Home Reports

The Home Report Legislation states that a completed Home Report must be available on a residential property for sale.

The Home Report consists of:

  • Document Index
  • Single Survey
  • Mortgage Valuation
  • Energy Report
  • Property Questionnaire
  • Additional Documents Relevant to the Property

The choice of Surveyor is up to you, the client.  You may already have a valid Home Report drawn up which we can utilise here.  Alternatively, you may wish us to instruct a Surveyor on your behalf which we are happy to do.

Our Recommendation

We would recommend Allied Surveyors Scotland who utilise an easy to use, online system called One Survey Home Report.  By using this system, potential buyers will have instant access to your Home Report and you and Grey & Co will be able to track and manage your report.

The main benefit of this will be speed and efficiency and ultimately hasten the selling process.   Buyers and Sellers can access One Survey Home Reports from the Grey & Co website as well as directly on www.onesurvey.org.

Please note that Grey & Co Solicitors do not receive commission of any kind from Allied Souter and Jaffrey or indeed any other Surveyor that you may instruct.  However any preferential solicitors’ instruction rates will be passed on to you in full.  Fees are based on a sliding scale and we are pleased to discuss these with you at any time but they are subject to your chosen Surveyor’s terms and conditions for which we are not responsible.  We are, however, pleased to assist with any queries that you may have and liaise with your chosen surveyor.
